Delete your account
Last updated: August 2026
You can delete your Aury account at any time. This page explains how to start the deletion and what happens afterwards. You do not need access to the app, and you do not need an account with us.
How to delete your account
By email
Write to us from the email address you signed up with. One sentence is enough: that you would like your account deleted.
dpo@aury.coSubject: Delete account
We confirm your request by email. We usually process deletion requests within ten working days, and within one month at the latest. If we cannot clearly tell whose account it is, we will ask you first.
In the Aury app
In the Aury app for iPhone and Android you will find the deletion in the settings. We send a code to your email address to confirm it. If you use Aury in the browser, take the email route above.
What happens next
- Your access is blocked immediately. You are signed out on all devices and stop receiving notifications.
- You have 30 days to change your mind.
- Only after those 30 days are your account and your data permanently deleted.
Please do not sign in to check
If you sign in again during those 30 days, your account stays with all your data — that cancels the deletion. There is no extra prompt; signing in is enough on its own. So if you sign in to check whether the deletion worked, that is exactly what undoes it.
Would you like your data removed completely? Then write to us as well at dpo@aury.co — that route is described above under "By email".
What gets deleted
When we delete your account, we remove the data stored about you across every system in which we process it:
- Your account and profile (name, email address, language setting, consents)
- Your conversations with Aury, session summaries and the insights derived from them
- Your courses, your progress and any scheduled reminders
- Your data in our analytics and evaluation tools
- Your email recipient data and all newsletter and notification subscriptions
- Your customer record at the payment provider, if one exists
This is based on your right to erasure under Art. 17 GDPR.
What is kept for legal reasons
In a few narrowly limited cases we may or must keep data beyond the deletion (Art. 17(3) GDPR):
- System and security logs. They contain no conversation content, only pseudonymous identifiers, and expire after 180 days at the latest.
- Backups. Backups are not edited individually; they expire with the regular backup cycle. Until then we use them for nothing else.
- Invoice records for paid bookings. Commercial and tax retention periods apply to these. In that case we keep only the receipt and remove the contact details as far as this is permitted.
